For a business, appearing on social media should be a priority if it isn’t already done. In fact, a good presence on the main social media platforms allows you to not only create a community around the company but also create the opportunity for more people to get to know the various products and services they offer. However, if the number of followers has been unmoving for a while and the commitment rate is not profitable, it would be wise to have a social media audit to optimize your presence on the different social media platforms. But how can you do that?

What's a social media audit?

Actually, it’s an analysis that will allow you to determine the main elements that positively affect your efficiency on social media. Once the analysis is complete, the business will know more about the kind of content they should show their followers in order to lure them in so they become customers or engaged visitors. In fact, an analysis like this aims to monetize your presence on social media!

1- Identifying your target audience

During the first step to your social media audit, you need to identify the persona, the type of person the products and services offered by the company are for. What social media is most popular within the target audience? What are their main characteristics (gender, where they live, age, etc.)?

This will mainly allow, among other things, to optimize one’s presence on the favorite social media of their persona. Plus, it is just as important to identify clear and precise goals (follower increase, web traffic increase, commitment rate increase, etc.).

2- Analyzing your social media's current data

To know what to optimize, it is essential to proceed with an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of your current presence on social media. For example, how many visitors go on the business’s website after having been on its Facebook page? How many “likes” does each product-related post get? Finally, how many people generally participate in the different campaigns created?

Plus, for each post, it is possible to analyze the commitment rates, the generated impressions, the number of clicks, the scope, the interactions, etc. The goal of the analysis is to identify the content that generated the most engagement from the visitors to be able to optimize your presence on social media.

3- Analyzing your competition

A social media audit not only allows you to analyze the social media performance of the company but also the social media performance of the main competition of the company. What practices are the most effective for the principal actors in its sector?

An agency at your service

Doing a social media audit takes time, for sure, but the acquisition of this kind of data will allow you to optimize your presence, lure in a qualified public, and finally, generate higher commitment rates. To reach the social media marketing goals of the company, it can be very wise to do business with an agency that is specialized in the matter. So don’t hesitate to contact us!
